The TP-LINK TL-SG1210MP is a ten-port Gigabit desktop switch with eight PoE+ outputs and a listed 123W shared PoE budget. Its supplied interface layout comprises nine Gigabit RJ45 ports plus one Gigabit combo SFP/RJ45 port. The combo connectors share one logical port, giving ten network ports rather than eleven independent connections.
Key features
- Eight Gigabit PoE+ outputs: RJ45 ports 1–8 support compatible IEEE 802.3af/at powered devices, with up to 30W per port listed, subject to the shared budget.
- Listed 123W shared budget: Plan combined powered-device demand within the total allowance. All eight PoE ports cannot provide their listed 30W maximum simultaneously.
- Flexible non-PoE connections: Alongside the eight PoE+ ports, the supplied layout provides one non-PoE Gigabit RJ45 port and one non-PoE Gigabit combo SFP/RJ45 port. The combo's copper and SFP connectors are alternatives for the same logical port.
- Priority and Isolation modes: Listed Priority Mode prioritises ports 1–2, while Isolation Mode separates client traffic on supported ports. Confirm mode behaviour for the supplied hardware revision.
- PoE Auto Recovery: Supplied information lists automatic restarting of dropped or unresponsive PoE-powered devices to help restore operation.
- Qualified Extend Mode: Supplied information lists up to 250m data and PoE transmission on ports 1–4 under Extend Mode. Confirm supported link speed, cabling and power conditions; this is not a Gigabit-at-250m guarantee.
- Fanless, plug-and-play design: No fan is listed, and basic switching requires no configuration. Auto-negotiation and Auto-MDI/MDIX support compatible Ethernet connections.
